NOAH’S ARK EC Project GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE IMPACT ON BUILT HERITAGE AND CULTURAL LANDSCAPES International Meeting Climate change and protection of cultural heritage in Europe: research, evidence and policy 30 May 2007 Ex Chiesa di Santa Marta Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali P.zza del Collegio Romano 5 Roma, Italy
The International Meeting aims at exploiting the results achieved within the EC Project Noah’s Ark. Vulnerability Atlas and Guidelines will be distributed. The Vulnerability Atlas presents maps of European climate scenarios from the recent past to the late 21st century. This deliverable provides climate data in a way that is relevant to cultural heritage and develops meteorological information in terms of changes with regard to imposed damage and potential risks to heritage. The Guidelines offer adaptation strategies for cultural heritage management in the face of climate change. These adaptation strategies should enable heritage stakeholders, owners and curators of historic buildings and collections, public policy-makers and national heritage organizations to contemplate future climate change pressures.
